Answer · A short answer
How do you get clients to rebook?
Ask before they pay, and name a date. Give every service a return interval, so staff can say "most people come back in about six weeks, that's the 14th" instead of "see you next time". For clients who leave without booking, send a short note a few days later and another one just before they are due. Rebooking should not depend on whether someone remembers to ask.
Why clients do not rebook
Most clients who do not come back were not unhappy. They meant to book, got busy, and the moment passed. A few weeks later, another business sent them a message first.
So the job is not to win them over again. It is to make booking the next visit the easy thing to do while they are still in front of you.
Set a return interval for each service
Every service has a natural gap before it is needed again. Here is an example: a colour might last around four to six weeks, a facial around six, a groom for a long-coated dog around four to six. Write the interval down for each of yours.
Now staff have something real to say at checkout: a date, not a vague "come back soon".
Ask at checkout, every time
Offer the next visit before payment, with the same person and a specific time. If the client is unsure, pencil it in and make it easy to move from the reminder. If they say no, tell them you will send a note when they are due.
Check the rebooking rate by staff member every week. It shows quickly who asks and who does not.
Catch the ones who left
For clients who did not rebook, send a short thank-you a few days later with a booking link. Send another just before their interval is up, with two real times. If they go past due, send a small number of messages spaced out over the following weeks, then stop.
Sort clients by where they are: new, active, overdue or lapsed. Each needs a different message.
The checkout words, the follow-up and the lapsed-client messages, ready to copy. Copy the script.
